Q. Why Drool?
A: Pregnant women crave all sorts of things! Along with pickles, ice cream, and those pretzels with the peanut butter inside, moms-to-be want all the information they can get about the products and services they’ll need once the baby arrives. A baby expo is a great way to get a lot of valuable information in a short period of time, and Boston just didn’t have the expo we were hoping for.
So we created our own! Drool brings that special Magic Beans touch to the baby expo concept, with top brands, honest expert advice, great deals, and a little bit of upscale pampering, too.
Q. When and where is Drool?
A: This year’s Drool Baby Expo is on May 21, 2013 beginning at 4 pm and ending at 9 pm. Drool will be held at the Westin Waterfront Hotel, 425 Summer Street, in Boston.
Q: How do I get to the Westin Waterfront Hotel? Is there parking?
A: The Westin Waterfront Hotel is in the Seaport District of Boston, and is attached to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC). See driving directions on their website. We’ve negotiated a special rate of $24 for the hotel parking garage; they also offer valet parking for $45. The BCEC lot is $12, and there is some metered parking in the area.
Q: What kinds of baby items will be represented here?
A: Virtually everything you need to purchase for a baby will be at Drool, including strollers, car seats, baby carriers, furniture, feeding items, safety items, baby apparel, nursery bedding, accessories, cord blood banking, photographers, 3D ultrasound, and so much more.
Q: What brands will be represented at Drool?
A: Keep an eye on our Exhibitors page – we’re adding great brands every day!
Q: Who is organizing this event?
A: Magic Beans, Boston’s premiere source for baby gear, toys, and surprises. We have four Boston-area stores and a fantastic website, and our handpicked selection and expert customer service win more accolades every day from satisfied parents.
Q: Why should I go to Drool and not just visit Magic Beans?
A: You should definitely visit Magic Beans! We have a great Baby Registry and a terrific selection of baby gifts, including WOW Baby Baskets.
But Drool is a once-a-year opportunity to get many of our best products for less, with exclusive discounts that more than justify the price of entry, plus fabulous giveaways and amazing gift bags. Plus, you’ll see exciting new products that haven’t even hit our shelves yet, and you’ll get the rare opportunity to talk one-on-one with the people who create and sell your favorite baby products.
Q: What items will be in the gift bag?
A: We can’t give away all of our secrets. But as the event gets closer, we’ll be dropping some fun hints. Watch our Prizes and Gift Bag pages for more information.
Q: How do I attend Drool?
A: Tickets are now on sale!
Q: How do I win one of these great raffle prizes?
A: Each vendor will be handing out beans at their table. Stash your beans in the exclusive, reusable Itzy Ritzy pouch we’ll give you at the registration desk, and get as many beans as you can, because more beans means more raffle entries!
When you’re done browsing, come to the Beancounter station, where you can trade your beans for raffle tickets. Each prize has a glass vase in front of it, and you can decide how you want to distribute your entries – for instance, if there’s a stroller you’ve been drooling over, you may want to put all of your tickets in that vase! Or, just spread your tickets around and keep your fingers crossed.
Q: Do I need to be present for the actual raffle drawing to win?
A: No. We know that expectant and new parents really, really need their beauty sleep. Instead, We’ll draw all of the winning numbers after the event is over and notify the winners within three days after the event. Most of our prizes will be shipped directly to the winners, to make the process as quick and easy as possible.
Q: Can I bring my children to Drool?
A: The Drool Baby Expo is an adult-centered event. It’s action-packed, loud, and crowded, so it can be tough to keep track of a small child. Kids don’t find strollers, mocktails, or special discounts nearly as exciting as grownups do, and since there are no child-centered events or activities planned, children may get bored. Due to limited space, we can’t provide a stroller check, and due to the sheer size of the event, we can’t be responsible for misplaced or unattended items.
So all around, while children are allowed at Drool, it’s best to leave them home with a sitter. If you absolutely must bring your baby or toddler, however, we understand, and you will not need to purchase an additional ticket.
